Coach Fiala has devoted his entire life to the great game of baseball. Fiala, a member of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame has coached at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. As a player, he was an “All-American” playing for Coach Ric Lessmann at Meramec Community College and led his team to the NJCCA World Series. After graduating from Meramec, Fiala attended Southern Illinois University and achieved all-conference honors playing for Coach “Itch” Jones.
Fiala has coached several Major League players including Mark Buehrle, Cliff Polite, Jay Marshall, Matt Cepicky and David Freese. It was during the 2003 St Louis Metro Collegiate season that Coach Fiala’s team won the League Championship and then went on to capture the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) World Series bringing “Metro” our first ever National Title.
In addition to his duties in the Metro Collegiate League, Coach Fiala runs the Fiala Baseball School specializing in working with hitters of all ages.
